Forensic Science Technician

A person who collects and analyzes evidence.   This is the job that I hope to achieve in the next few years.  These are the people who work behind the scenes with all the laboratory equipment to analyze data.  This data could include fingerprints, DNA, shoe prints, hair, trace evidence, etc.  The most important thing to understand about this job is that it is not what it looks like on TV.  In most of the major shows these people also go out to the crime scene.  In real life, the technicians rarely go out to the crime scene.  Also, TV shows make it seem like the answers or analyzed evidence will be done and come back so quickly.  This is not the case.  In real life to get things like fingerprints analyzed it could take weeks.
